Florida structure and funding choices

Choose the path that fits your family.

First understand how your child will be registered. Then explore whether a scholarship or stipend may support that choice.

01

Home Education Program

Register with your resident school district. Parents maintain a portfolio and provide an annual educational evaluation using an approved method.

02

Private Umbrella School

Enroll with a Florida private school that serves home-based students. The school manages its enrollment and attendance requirements; ask each school exactly what it requires.

03

Scholarship-Funded Education

Step Up For Students administers several scholarship and stipend programs. PEP is one option for personalized education, but it is not Florida’s only scholarship pathway.
